Internet Explorer is not the only internet browser you can use on Windows. Both security concerns and mandatory browser choice screen in countries belonging to the European Union have drastically raised the usage levels for Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari and Opera.
Please note that you do not have to install or use any of these alternative internet browsers if you don't want to. The following articles are only for those people who have already installed one of the listed browsers.
In this section we will cover security settings for latest versions of all major internet browsers. All browsers are at their defaults with no add-ons and plugins installed (except for Adobe Flash Player), so some menus can be a little different in your case. Still the most important settings are the same.
Before going into configuration articles, please make sure you are using the latest version of the browser. You can get them via the following links:
You can also use Secunia PSI for checking whether your internet browsers are up-to-date and patched.
